The artist Lila Deva was born in Recife, Brasil.
Her art manifests forms and colors from the African philosophy and spirituality, focusing on the kemectic (egyptian) philosophy.
Beyond the research, she brings to live spiritual, emotional and physical experiences, trying to translate them to archetypes and colors.
Deva identifies the paintings as dreamlike, because it’s her dreams she uses as guide in the process of image construction.
The result of the artwork comes from Lila’s own ancestrality, the black people and pindoramic people, in a place before the colonialism.
It’s all about the construction of an image for the eternity. A ritual that heals the image of the colonization dystopia and redeem the images and ways of life from the golden era lived by the African ancestors.
